Why wait for injury to occur? Create biomechanical changes to optimize performance.

Symbiotic Physical Therapy works alongside Symbiotic Training Center to maximize our athletes’ training experience as soon as they walk in the door. Before training at the facility, athletes perform a two-step assessment, the first of which is completed with a physical therapist to assess the athlete’s starting point biomechanics. Our physical therapists are movement experts who are trained in unlocking and optimizing biomechanical potential with a central goal of empowering athletes of all ages and disciplines, including Major League Baseball players, little league players, and retired athletes. Whether you’re a seasoned baseball or softball player, a novice runner, an intermediate volleyball player, or anyone in between, we believe in the power of proprioception, mobility, and stability being the foundation of injury-prevention, power, strength, and overall performance.

Symbiotic Physical Therapy offers an integrated approach that focuses on working with the whole person and targeting root dysfunctions. With a variety of manual treatment options and an emphasis on maximizing the body’s self-healing mechanisms, we make sure that every patient has a clear understanding of their body and an actionable plan for improvement.

Examples of manual therapy include:

  • Deep tissue massage
  • Cupping
  • Scraping
  • Taping
  • Joint mobilization
  • Functional Manual Reaction (FMR)
  • Manual lymphatic stimulation
  • Active Release Technique (ART)
  • Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF)

Our physical therapy services are open to everyone, whether you are an athlete coming to train at the facility, or just trying to better your health. For those interested in sport-specific training, we provide full body athlete assessments so that the training staff can create individualized training programs that are unique to your needs, help improve your athletic performance, and decrease the chance of injury.

Tiers of Evaluations

Initial Assessment

This 30-minute assessment includes a general movement screen to find any red flags and to delve into any past injuries. During this assessment a full body movement screen and posture analysis is used to help prevent injury and better individualize a personalized workout program.

Full Biomechanical Assessment

This 55-minute assessment includes a comprehensive biomechanical analysis to dive deeper into movement patterns in order to better individualize and optimize a training program specific to the athlete and their sport. Assessing full body movement patterns allows us to not only help prevent future injury but also to improve overall performance in both athletics and daily life.

Injured Athlete Assessment

This 55-minute assessment is geared toward helping the athlete return to sport/workout. An evaluation will be performed to assess the injury. If appropriate, a full body movement screen will also be performed to screen out any red flags (that may have caused the injury) and also to better individualize a personalized workout program.

Throwing Assessment

This assessment is aimed at helping create an individualized throwing program. The assessment includes several key areas to ensure optimal performance and injury prevention including Range of Motion (ROM), Strength and stability, joint integrity, functional movement screen, and injury history review. By thoroughly assessing these aspects, we can help optimize a pitcher’s performance while minimizing the risk of injury, ensuring they can perform at their best over the long term.

Running/Gait Assessment

This assessment is aimed at helping create an individualized running mobility/strengthening program to help improve running/walking form, decrease injury risk, and increase efficiency.
