Holistic treatment designed to improve movement, performance and quality of life

Symbiotic Physical Therapy offers an integrated approach that focuses on working with the whole person and targeting root dysfunctions. Our physical therapists are biomechanical experts specifically trained to assess and address mechanical faults to help gain and maintain long term health. With a variety of manual treatment options and an emphasis on maximizing the body’s self-healing mechanisms, we make sure that every patient has a clear understanding of their body and an actionable plan for improvement.

Our physical therapy services are open to everyone, whether you are an athlete coming to train at the facility, or just trying to better your health. For those interested in training, we provide full body athlete assessments so that the training staff can create individualized training programs that are unique to your needs, help improve your athletic performance, and decrease the chance of injury.

Here are some of the physical therapy services we offer:

A full body assessment involves a comprehensive evaluation of an individuals musculoskeletal system and overall physical condition. During the assessment, the physical therapist will examine various aspects, including posture, range of motion, muscle strength, joint stability and flexibility. They will also assess any existing injuries, pain, or functional limitations you may have. The physical therapist will conduct a series of tests and observations to identify any potential imbalances that could lead to dysfunction. The patients plan of care is developed from these details and consistently monitored for need for progression.

Our physical therapy staff is highly trained in a variety of manual treatment options, including but not limited to: joint mobilizations, soft tissue mobilizations, trigger point release, active release therapy, and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF).

Taping techniques are used to restrict movement of injured joints, facilitate corrective postural alignment, reduce pain, prevent faulty movement patterns, support weak muscles, and decrease swelling in affected areas.

Cupping therapy involves utilizing suction to pull up the superficial layers of tissue to create a vacuum effect of blood flow to the area. Benefits include improving range of motion, decreasing pain, increasing tissue extensibility, loosening adhesions, and stimulating the peripheral nervous system.

The physical therapist will assess the patient’s respiratory function, primarily through a neuromuscular lens. We focus on the diaphragm’s motor pattern and its capability of working with the rest of our deep core system to create stability by continuing to drive air and pressure throughout our body,. This is ultimately is the root of our movement or lack of appropriate movement.

This screening will consist of fundamental movements tests most specific to your life and activities. The therapist will assess a variety of fundamental movement patterns that are essential for daily activities and physical performance. Addressing specific movement deficiencies helps us improve your overall function and movement patterns.

Our physical therapist will evaluate your walking pattern and identify any abnormalities or issues that may be affecting your mobility or causing discomfort. Our bodies like to hold on to certain movement patterns that may impede our ability to perform efficiently. These patterns are largely prevalent during the gait cycle. During a gait assessment we will analyze each phase of walking to correct for any faulty movement pattern or impairment that may be contributing to your ongoing limitations.

Symbiotic Physical Therapy specializes in hypermobility disorders such as Hypermobility Spectrum disorder (HSD) and Ehler Danlos syndrome (EDS). Whether you have officially been diagnosed with a genetic condition or struggle with excess mobility, our stabilization program is right for you. Physical therapy for hypermobility begins with a thorough assessment, both subjective and objective.  No two patients are the same, so we focus on the individual. The information that is gathered from the assessment is used to create an individualized program that is right for you.

Cash-based treatment model

We offer cash-based or out-of-network treatment models in order to maximize our ability to help patients reach their goals. Choosing to not work with insurance allows us to avoid service restrictions by third party payers. At Symbiotic Physical Therapy, we believe in treating the whole individual, which takes time that is not allotted in the insurance model. Practicing with a cash-based model allows us to treat our patients as we see best without limitations.
